Stripe closed our account as "high risk" 0 disputes, 0 chargebacks, biggest order was €300. Anyone been through this? Not really sure where else to post this, so here goes. We run a small online shop selling trading card game stuff mostly Pokémon TCG, plus sleeves and accessories. Last week Stripe closed our account and the reason given was basically "your business is considered high risk." That was it. The thing that's driving me crazy is that nothing happened. We've never had a single dispute. Not one chargeback attempt. No fraud reports, no complaints, nothing weird on the account at all. We're not even doing serious volume our biggest order ever was around €300. So I genuinely don't know what we did to end up in that bucket. I've tried live chat several times. Either I get a reply that doesn't answer what I asked, or the ticket just gets closed. I'm not asking them to reverse it on the spot, I just want to know what actually flagged us and whether a review is even an option. So far I can't get anyone to tell me either way. So, questions for you all: Has anyone here actually gotten an account back after a high-risk closure? If yes, what did you do that worked? Is there a better way to escalate than live chat some email or form that gets to a human? And is this just how it goes for collectibles/TCG sellers, or did we get unlucky? If someone from Stripe happens to see this and can nudge me toward the right channel, I'd really appreciate it. Happy to share the account details privately with anyone who can actually look it up. Thanks any pointers help at this stage. Update: My account has been reinstated i have now processed 2 payments and everything seems okay. Update: My account got Payout restricted i needed to send a ID verify what i just did lets hope i can get my Payouts reanabled again **Update: My account was just shut down by Stripe for being deemed “high risk.”** At this point, I honestly have to say that Stripe has some of the worst customer support I’ve ever experienced. Support simply ignores you, doesn’t provide a clear or meaningful explanation for why your account is being closed, and often doesn’t respond at all. If I treated my own customers like this, I’d fully expect to face serious consequences. What makes this even more frustrating is that Stripe can apparently shut down smaller businesses with little to no explanation, simply because they have the size and resources to get away with it. I’ve had **0 chargebacks and 0 disputes**, yet my account is somehow considered “high risk.” No proper explanation, no meaningful support, just another shutdown. It’s honestly insane to me that companies like Visa and Mastercard continue to work with a payment processor that can treat its customers this way. The lack of accountability is absolutely ridiculous.

Author follow-up Hey, apparently I didn’t get my account back after all. I woke up to a message saying that my account had been suspended again, and now it has been permanently closed for being considered “high risk” even though I have **0 chargebacks and 0 disputes**. I’ve tried contacting support multiple times, including reaching out through Reddit, but I haven’t gotten anywhere. They either don’t respond or simply ghost me. I honestly don’t understand how my account can be classified as high risk when there have been no chargebacks or disputes. I’d really appreciate it if someone from support could actually look into my case and explain what triggered this decision.
