Anyone else get their Stripe account terminated out of nowhere? How did you handle payment processing after? Got the email with zero warning — account terminated, funds held, no real explanation beyond "your business category." Spent the next two months figuring out alternatives. Ended up with a combination of ACH invoicing and crypto that actually works better for my customers than Stripe did. Curious if others have been through this and what solutions actually stuck.

Anyone recovered funds after a Stripe account closure? They released my smaller payout, withheld the larger one Stripe has been holding $2,218.03 of my money for nearly 6 months, and I honestly don't know what else a small business owner is supposed to do. I'm posting this again because my original post on the Stripe subreddit was removed by the moderators and redirected back to Stripe Support—the same support team that has been sending me generic template responses for months without providing a clear explanation or release date. Background: • I run a Delaware…
Stripe blocking high-dollar Link / Financial Connections bank payments — risk level shows “Unknown” We run a Service & Sales business (Residential Inground Pool & Spa Services & Sales of High-Dollar Spas) and use Stripe to collect payments. Most payments are by credit card through Stripe, but we signed up for Financial Connections through Link so customers can pay by bank so they don't need to physically bring a check into the store. We are having an issue where customers pay through **Link** with a bank account attached through **Financial Connections**, and Stripe blocks…
Stripe Held My Funds — Then How They Finally Released Them Stripe held my funds for months — sharing what actually worked Hey everyone, I wanted to share a real experience in case it helps other founders or small business owners who might end up in a similar situation. This is not a rant and not legal advice — just a firsthand account. ⸻ What happened (short version) Stripe closed my business account, citing “high risk.” Account closures happen — that part wasn’t the main issue. The problem was the funds already in the account. These were my own earned funds, not customer deposits. I work with Booking.com, so these were B2B settlement payouts for completed stays — fully legitimate revenue, not advance customer payments. No chargebacks. No disputes. No negative balance. Yet the funds were blocked. ⸻ No clear timeline, no written answer What made things worse was the lack of clarity. • Stripe did not give a clear written timeline. • There was no official email saying “we’ll hold funds for X days.” • The only mention of a timeframe came informally on X (Twitter), where “around 120 days” was mentioned — nothing binding. Support tickets were vague or quietly closed. At that point, I had no real idea whether this would take weeks or forever. ⸻ How I found out about the “120 days” Only after escalating the case to the UK Financial Ombudsman Service did I learn something important: Stripe can hold funds for up to 120 days, but that’s a maximum, not open-ended. That was the first time the situation had an actual framework. ⸻ “Available” doesn’t mean “paid” After those months, Stripe eventually released the funds internally. The balance showed as “available.” But no payout was initiated. No date. No explanation. Just silence. This went on long enough that it caused real problems: • cash-flow issues •…
